Manufacturing
Ajinomoto Sweeteners Europe supplies the food and drink industry throughout Europe, the CIS, the Middle East and Africa with Ajinomoto AminoSweet from its production facility at Gravelines in northern France. Quality assurance is a top priority and is fully integrated into all aspects of production. All manufacturing procedures are carried out in accordance with the EU Council's Directive on the hygiene of foodstuff (EC 93/43/EC). In 1995, the factory received its ISO 9002 certification. Ajinomoto also offers the security of multi-sourcing: the company can supply AminoSweet not only from France, but also from its manufacturing facilities in Japan.
Quality Control
Ajinomoto's AminoSweet is the highest quality aspartame. The company's standards are evident in its product specifications which include detailed results of purity, microbiological and physical testing. Ajinomoto AminoSweet exceeds the standards set for pharmaceutical or food applications by the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) and by the EU Directive 95/31 Purity Criteria for Sweeteners used in Foodstuff.
Ajinomoto AminoSweet also meets the specifications and standards of other national and international bodies such as the Food Chemical Codex (FCC), the US Pharmacopeia (USP), the French and German Pharmacopea, the Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) of the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the Japanese Sweetener Standards.
Environment
Ajinomoto AminoSweet presents substantial environmental benefits when compared to caloric sweeteners - an important consideration for any food and drink company seeking to reduce the environmental footprint of its products.
